The Isle of Wight County Annual Report presents a snapshot of economic activity for each calendar year. 2009 highlights include: the International Paper Announcement, Smithfield Foods’ reorganization, Safco Products Company’s ribbon cutting, Entrepreneur of the Year Award, PACE, the Isle Be Green Plastic Bag Recycling Program and a summary of Planning and Zoning activities. The report also includes sections on Tourism and Parks & Recreation. All of the data is presented in graph format to easily show trends in population, workforce, building permits, property taxes, and business licenses over the past nine years.
