Isle of Wight County continues to experience moderate residential growth. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the 2008 population is 35,472. The population is expected to reach over 44,000 by 2020. As of 2008, the median household income was $58,840. Isle of Wight ranks sixth in the region, which consists of 15 cities and counties.
